Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps that Cleaners Bromley has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place within our operations or supply chains. Cleaners Bromley provides professional cleaning services and recognises its responsibility to act ethically and with integrity in all business relationships.
Modern slavery is a crime and a fundamental violation of human rights. It can take various forms, including slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking. Cleaners Bromley has a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery and is committed to acting transparently, fairly and responsibly in all our activities.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Cleaners Bromley operates a clear zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. This applies to all persons working for or on behalf of Cleaners Bromley in any capacity, including employees at all levels, agency workers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and business partners.
We require that everyone who works with or for us upholds the same high standards. Any breach of this policy by an employee may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal. Any breach by a supplier, contractor or partner may result in termination of the business relationship and, where appropriate, reporting to relevant authorities.
Our Supply Chains and Supplier Standards
Our supply chains include providers of cleaning materials and equipment, subcontracted cleaning services, property maintenance services, and other support services. Cleaners Bromley is committed to working only with suppliers and partners who share our commitment to preventing modern slavery.
We expect all suppliers to operate in full compliance with applicable labour laws, including those relating to forced labour, child labour, working hours, wages, and health and safety. Our supplier terms require suppliers to confirm that they do not engage in, or support, any form of modern slavery and that they take reasonable steps to ensure that their own supply chains are free from such practices.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
Cleaners Bromley carries out proportionate due diligence on new suppliers and, where appropriate, on existing suppliers. This includes requesting information about working conditions, recruitment practices and adherence to labour standards. We may require documentary evidence to support supplier statements.
We reserve the right to conduct audits of selected suppliers. These audits may include on-site visits, review of employment records and discussions with management and, where appropriate, workers. Where risks or non-conformances are identified, we will work with the supplier to implement corrective actions within an agreed timeframe. If a supplier fails to make sufficient progress, we may suspend or terminate the relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Cleaners Bromley encourages all employees, agency staff, subcontractors and suppliers to report any concerns about modern slavery, human trafficking or unethical labour practices. Concerns can be raised through normal line management, senior management or established internal reporting routes.
We are committed to ensuring that anyone who raises a concern in good faith does so without fear of retaliation. All reports are taken seriously and will be investigated promptly and sensitively. Where necessary, issues will be escalated to senior management and, if appropriate, reported to competent authorities.
Training and Awareness
To support our zero-tolerance stance, Cleaners Bromley provides training and guidance to relevant employees, particularly those involved in recruitment, procurement and supplier management. Training covers the signs of modern slavery, how to raise concerns and the responsibilities of individuals within the business.
We also seek to raise awareness among our wider workforce so that everyone understands the importance of ethical labour practices and their role in helping to identify and prevent exploitation.
Monitoring, Governance and Annual Review
Responsibility for implementing and overseeing this Modern Slavery Statement rests with the senior management of Cleaners Bromley. They are responsible for ensuring that appropriate systems and controls are in place and for reviewing any reported incidents or concerns.
This statement and our associated policies and procedures are reviewed at least annually to ensure they remain effective and reflect any changes in legislation, best practice or the structure of our business and supply chains. Where necessary, we will update our approach and communicate any significant changes to employees and key suppliers.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement demonstrates Cleaners Bromleys ongoing commitment to conducting business ethically and to working towards the elimination of modern slavery and human trafficking in all its forms.
